For one of our clients, a private bank based in Geneva, we are looking for a :




Job description

  • Assessing the credit quality and risk profile of transactions & Borrower in the fields of Corporate & Commodities Trade Finance
  • Review credit applications to ensure that they are processed according to the bank's credit policy
  • Work with the RM to structure transactions and offer advice to mitigate identified risks where possible
  • Control of Trade Finance positions with Relationship Manager & Transactional Manager
  • Assist Head of Credit in implementation and review of Credit guidelines
  • Assist Head of Credit in the supervision Credit Control and Reporting staff
  • Conducting a thorough risks assessment of the underlying transactions (drafting or reviewing credit applications submitted by the Relationship Managers)
  • Maintain an on-going working relationship with other units of the bank such as Risk Management, Commodities & Trade Finance, Legal & Compliance Department, Trade Finance Operations and Finance
  • Regular review of Trade Finance positions with TM/RM
  • Follow up and report of commodities price risk
  • Regular report to Top Management on the Trade & Corporate Finance Credit activities
  • Ensure adherence of credit activities with the bank's policies & guidelines as well as relevant regulations


Profile required

  • University degree or equivalent education in Business, Finance and/or Law
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in credit department of a bank involved in Commodity Trade & Corporate Finance
  • Capacity to assess all types of credit risks related to Commodities & Trade Finance and Corporate Lending activities
  • Excellent knowledge of Trade Finance contractual terms (payment terms, delivery terms, transfer of risk and title), related insurances (cargo, credit, risk), payments instruments, etc.
  • Ability to draft clear and comprehensive credit applications or to review credit applications
  • Good knowledge of standard tools and techniques for the credit analysis
  • Familiarity with modern IT tools & applications (MS Office, VBA, etc.)
  • Ability ot effectively manage and streamline credit work flow
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Good communication skills (written and oral)
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to manage several projects at the same time
  • Fluent in English and French
  • Available rapidly
